In this episode of the Links Golf Club Podcast, we tackle a big question: How do golf courses earn their reputation?
To help us explore it, we’re joined by Derek Duncan, Architecture Editor at Golf Digest and host of Feed the Ball. Derek is one of the sharpest voices in golf architecture today. He helps shape Golf Digest’s Top 100 rankings, has walked some of the most iconic land in golf, and interviews the game’s most influential architects.
Together, we dig into how reputation is built, managed, and sometimes even manufactured. We talk about why certain courses rise in the rankings, what it takes for a new course to break through, and which clubs are doing things right (or trying a little too hard). Whether you care about design, history, or just want to understand why people obsess over certain clubs, this one will give you a whole new lens on the game.
This is Episode 4 of Building LinksDAO, our series about the hidden ingredients behind great golf clubs.

In this episode of the Links Golf Club Podcast, we explore one of golf’s most debated and emotional questions: What makes a golf course beautiful?
To help us unpack it, we’re joined by Evan Schiller. Evan is one of the most celebrated golf course photographers in the world. A former PGA professional turned artist, Evan has photographed over 600 championship courses, including Augusta National, Pebble Beach, and The Old Course at St. Andrews. His work appears in Golf Digest, LINKS Magazine, and clubhouses across the globe.
Together, we explore how beauty shows up on a golf course and how photography plays a powerful role in shaping a club’s identity. Whether you’re a golf architecture nerd, a design lover, or just someone who appreciates a good sunrise over the 18th green, this one’s for you.
This is Episode 3 of Building LinksDAO, our series about the hidden ingredients behind great golf clubs.

In this very special episode of the Links Golf Club Podcast, we go deep on what makes a great golf club — not just the course, but the culture, operations, and people behind it.
We’re joined by two general managers from opposite sides of the Atlantic:• John Caven, GM of St. George’s Golf & Country Club in Toronto — one of the top-rated clubs in North America• Bert MacKay, GM of Spey Bay Golf Club in Scotland — a historic coastal links now being reimagined by a global community
We explore what GMs really do, how clubs shape member experience behind the scenes, and the big (and small) things that separate good clubs from great ones. It’s a revealing look at the philosophies, contrasts, and surprising common ground between North American and Scottish golf culture.
